Learn The Truth About This Alkaline Water

The alkaline water scam continues to grow, despite the efforts of numerous chemists and other concerned individuals. Many have written about the subject on the internet, although the real information can be difficult to find, because of all the advertisements for ionizers. Here you have found some real information.

Ionizers can cost as much as $ 2500. They provide no purification, because they include no filters or exchangers to remove chemicals or heavy metals. In fact, they do not remove or add anything. They simply give a momentary electric charge to any naturally occurring minerals. If no minerals are present, they have no effect at all.

De-ionized water is de-mineralized. It is used in industrial and medical settings for a number of purposes. Distillation devices or reverse osmosis membranes may be used to remove minerals. All natural sources of freshwater have some mineral content. It just varies from one area to another.

Ionizers can not increase the mineral content, but an ion exchange step may slowly increase the content by modifying metallic ions for mineral ions. In other words, there are ways to improve the quality of your home's water.

Perpetrators of the alkaline water scam maintain that excess acid found in foods and beverages gets stored in our bodies and gradually poisons us. Medical professionals say that is not possible. The body can easily neutralize excess acid and does so all of the time. Without the kidneys or liver stop functioning, the blood pH is always carefully balanced, regardless of what you eat or drink.

It could be true that you might need to drink more pure water. Water aids digestion and is needed for detoxification. We eliminate toxins through urination, perspiration and respiration. Some health experts believe that many people suffer needlessly from mild symptoms of dehydration.

So, if the alkaline water scam gets more people to drink pure H2O, then it is a good thing. The problem is that since no purification steps are included in the ionizers, they can not improve the purity of what we drink.

Effective home water purifiers with an ion exchange step are readily available and can be purchased for a fraction of the cost of an ionizer. They are easy to install and easy to use. It is far better for your health and for the environment to install a purifier than it is to drink bottled beverages.

There you have it. The alkaline water scam has been de-bunked.

Caution – Drinking High Alkaline Water Can Be Bad For Your Health

Drinking high alkaline water could be bad for your health, despite what all the advertising claims may lead you to believe. A pH of 10, 11 or 12 is not something we would normally drink. All naturally occurring freshwater has a pH somewhere between 6.5 and 8.5. 6.5-7.5 would be the optimum pH level according to numerous experts.

The ionizers or alkalizers as they are sometimes referred to are sold through multi-level marketing schemes. They cost well over $ 1000 and they provide no protection from the real dangers in our freshwater supplies. Those dangers are contaminants, primarily chemical residues left over from industrial and agricultural activity.

Researchers have found thousands of cancer causing chemicals in publicly purchased supplies. They have conducted tests in offices and homes to see what hazards are flowing out of our taps. The hazards are numerous and they are real.

There is no scientific evidence relating to benefits of drinking high alkaline water, but there is plenty of evidence relating to risks of exposure to cancer-causing chemicals. For example, several studies have shown that people in areas where chlorine is used to disinfect the public supplies have a greater risk of several types of cancer.

The chemicals can also be inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Regardless of what you drink, you have to be concerned about what you shower in. Paying a thousand dollars for a worthless ionizer is simply a waste of money. The money would be better spent on purifiers for the kitchen tap and the bathroom showerhead. The total cost would be a fraction of what you would spend on an ionizer.

The advertisements say that our bodies are too acidic, that the high acid level contributes to cancer. They say that cancer cells and free radical molecules that cause cancer can not live in an environment with a high pH level. That's true, but neither can healthy cells .

The worst thing about the claims associated with drinking high alkaline water is that they may give people false hope or cause them to delay treatments known to be effective. They make the products sound like cure-alls. There are no such things. Living a healthy lifestyle takes a number of different steps.

If you do decide that drinking high alkaline water is the right choice, be sure to invest in an effective purifier, too. Some of the honest ionizer manufacturers suggest that, because their systems do not purify.

Avoiding Mold-Related Diseases

Do not Buy Moldy Foods

To avoid diseases related to mold exposure, we should examine food well before purchasing or cooking. Molds could settle even on glass jars of food so we must also check them. For vegetables or fruits, try to check their stem areas for most of the time people take for granted these small parts. Although some parts would not be used, molds on it might have already invaded deep infesting the edible part of the food. Also, avoid buying bruised produce. If you notice mold growths on any kind of food in the market or groceries, notify the owner so that he could get rid of them right away. Consider other people that might not be able to notice that. Examine preserved and cooked meat carefully for they are usually not mold free.

Heat Processing High- Acid Foods

Molds can also develop in preserved foods and fruits and vegetables with high acid. Get rid of the molds in them by heat processing at a temperature of 212 ° F for a considerable length of time. Remember that moldy foods may also be infected by bacteria so heat process foods when needed.

Protect Food from Mold

Always cover food served on the table to keep it protected from floating mold spores in the air. Using plastic wraps is advisable for covering certain kinds of food that need stay moist. Foods that decay quickly must be stored at once into refrigerators. Do not leave these kinds of food out of the refrigerator for more than two hours. Do not wait for a long time before consuming leftovers or molds would have a chance to grow on them.

How Should You Handle Food with Mold on It?

When you already notice mold growths on food , do not try to sniff the food anymore. The presence of molds assures you that the food is already contaminated. Sniffing moldy foods would just encourage greater exposure to molds and could lead to having respiratory problems. Dispose moldy foods right away into covered trash cans. Check also the other food placed near or that had a close contact with the contaminated ones. You may also have to discard them because mold growths spread quickly. Cutting off one inch around and below the mold spots of food is acceptable for decent foods like cage, carrots and bell peppers since it is not easy for molds to penetrate on these.

How Do We Know If Toxic Mold Is Present?

Molds are seen with are naked eye so it is easier to figure out whether a certain area in our house or work place is infested by molds. Also the presence of mold odor is highly noticeable. Get rid of excess moisture in the area and clean surfaces with molds. Observe individuals who are allergic to molds. If they experience mold related problems then great is the possibility that the area is contaminated with molds. Remember that molds may settle on surfaces of materials not noticeable to us like underneath carpets or behind walls and ceilings.

Observe Cleanliness

Since molds could settle almost anywhere, it is important to have the habit of cleaning your house. Observe cleanliness in your kitchen where most of the foods you eat are stored. Clean the inside of your refrigerator every after few months to avoid mold growths. In cleaning the inside of your refrigerator, you can use a tablespoon of baking soda dissolved in a quart of water. Be sure to rinse thoroughly and wipe dry. Remember that molds settle on moist area. Keep kitchen utensils clean. Throw items you can not clean.

What Type of Doctor Should I See Concern Mold Exposure?

When someone is affected by any mold-related disease advise them to consult a doctor right away. Do not wait for the situation to get worse. A simple allergic reaction can lead to serious health problems when ignored. Visit the nearest hospital or clinic near you and have a common doctor check you up. The doctor may refer you to a specialist if needed. There are allergists who could give you the right information and prescription for mold allergies and infections. A pulmonary physician may be recommended for lung infections.

Are Herbicides in Home Drinking Water Dangerous?

Herbicides in drinking water may be dangerous. A variety of health problems have been associated with exposure to chemical contaminants of all kinds. Thousand of chemicals are present in publicly owned supplies according to the Ralph Nader Research Group, the Environmental Working Group and other researchers. Here's what you need to know.

What Are Herbicides?

Herbicides are commonly referred to as weed killer. They are actually a type of pesticide. What we have to remember is that anything that can kill any form of life is a toxin. The amount of toxicity to humans varies, depending on the chemical.

Some Examples Herbicides and Pesticides

Alachlor, Atrazine, DBCP, Simazine, Endrin, Dinoseb, Chlordane, chloro-benzene and heptachlor are examples of herbicides and pesticides.

These chemicals are not regulated by the EPA. Drinking water treatment facilities are not required to test for them. Homeowners can test, but the tests are very expensive, because each chemical requires a different test in order to detect it.

Organophosphates were introduced as a safe alternative to banged pesticide like DDT. Unlike DDT, organophosphates are partially biodegradable. However, research has shown that traces of organophosphates remain in drinking water and food.

What are the Health Effects of Exposure?

The health effects are numerous. A lot has to do with how much exposure occurs. The greatest risks are to infants and children, because the chemicals are neurotoxins. They interfere with nervous system communications.

Two of the long-term problems associated with exposure to organophosphates are learning delays and attention deficit disorder. Three recent studies have confirmed that prenatal exposure is linked to diminished IQ. So, pregnant women should be especially careful to avoid the toxins.

Other possible health effects include:
• Cancer
Parkinson's disease
• Genetic damage
• Nerve damage
• Brain damage
• Behavioral problems
• Chronic Fatigue
• Alzheimer's Disease
• Death

Those are effects that can be caused by exposure to very low levels of the toxins, such as the amount that may be present in public water supplies or found on fruits and vegetables. Repeated or prolonged exposure to herbicides, such as may occur in a work environment, is accompanied by the following risks:

• Loss of appetite
• Nausea
• Weakness
• Headache
• Irritability
• Confusion
• Sleepwalking
Insomnia or drowsiness
• Depression
• Problems with memory and concentration

Where are the Pesticides

Although they may be present in any water supply, high levels have been found in agricultural areas. In the cities of the US Corn Belt (in Louisiana and Maryland), for example, Environmental Working Group researchers found levels that far exceeded the federal health standards. Other cities that had high levels of Atrazine and other pesticides include:

• Danville, IL
Fort Wayne, IN
• Omaha, NE
• Decatur, IL
• Kansas City, KS
• Bowling Green, OH
Columbus, OH

The EWG says that the only community where weed killers were not found in the drinking water was Memphis, TN. Public water in Memphis comes from deep water wells.
Herbicides can be anywhere, but you can protect yourself. You'll learn how in my next article.

The Egg and I – A Recipe For An Organic Relationship

“The Egg and I”, a 1947 madcap, slap-stick comic starred Claudette Colbert and Fred MacMurray as Betty and Bob MacDonald. On their wedding night, Bob informs Betty he's left his office job, purchased an abandoned chicken farm and plans to sell hen eggs. Betty exclaims in fright, “we know nothing about growing chickens”. While watching this “old” movie, it came me; there is nothing to know. All the chickens I ever met roamed around the barnyard all day pecking in the dirt, roosting at night in the hen house and laying eggs in the fresh straw daily provided. Buying eggs was simple and the only choices I needed to consider were size and color, brown or white. Today's dizzying array of descriptions and labels makes purchasing a commercially produced carton of hen eggs akin to a college chemistry class. Do I choose barn eggs, cage eggs, free-range eggs, Omega-3 eggs, vegetarian eggs, or organically certified eggs.

Let me simplify this task by suggesting suggesting, almost insisting you purchase organically certified eggs. Your family, friends and neighbor's will insist you continue to purchase organic upon tasting your cakes, biscuits and scones. Here's why.

Organic Eggs:

  • come from hens that are free to peck in the dirt
  • sleep nightly in a protected shelter that keeps them warm
  • daily eat pesticide, herbicide and fertilizer free meals along with fresh water
  • take no medication, hormones or meat by = products to “fatten” them up
  • exhibit higher Omega-3, Vitamin E and beta-carotene

Imagine my surprise the first time I cracked open an organic egg. The yolk glistened with a rich warm yellow color while the white was crystal clear and firm much unlike the eggs I had regularly consumed since leaving my childhood farm.

I can not sacrifice quality for price since the fact that organic eggs come at a higher price, often selling for $ 3.50 – $ 4.00 per dozen, while commercial eggs can be found for $ .99 a dozen on sale. As a consummate baker, my cakes, biscuits and scones achieve a higher rise rate provided by the excellent binding found in the beaten organic egg.

* Angel Food Cake, using 12 whites, no longer requires creme of tartar to maintain the weak egg white peaks.

* Roz's Sponge Sponge Cake, requiring 10 eggs separated, rises an additional 2 inches when the yolks have been beaten to a luscious ribbony batter.

* Divinity (meringue candy), calling for 3-6 stiffly beat whites, sets upon dropping from a wet spoon

* Caesar salad exudes the richness and silky texture found only in a quick set coddled egg. (All eggs contain the risk of salmonella, however, organic hens possessing all the qualities of a free range flock test positive for less occurrence. This, in large measure, is due to flock size, smaller than commercial enterprises.)

* Omelettes set up at a faster rate allowing for a delicately moist interior while achieving a golden brown exterior and the classic Caesar salad exudes the richness and silky texture found only in the coddled organic egg. (All eggs contain the risk of salmonella, however, organic hens possessing all the quantities of a free range flood have been shown to test positive for less occurrence. .)

Enjoying the benefits of organic eggs is immeasurable. Freedom to roam, forage and drink fresh water are necessary for the cultivation of a healthy egg while the absence of chemicals allows laying hens to stay healthy and vorious.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Vegetarian for the Environment

Everyone has their own reason for going vegetarian. Some people do it for health reasons, as the vegetarian diet offers all sorts of proven health benefits. Others go vegetarian for ethical reasons, for the treatment of most animals in food production is treated terribly, being reduced to mere units of production rather than life forms. There is a large number of people who are vegetarian for religious reasons, although this is more common in the East, including some sects of Hinduism and Buddhism.

As more and more citizens became concerned with the environmental effects of our actions, though, so do the number of those who become vegetarian for environmental reasons. The effects of animal production on our resources is significant and palpable – take a drive through animal production countryside's and you can smell it. Animals raised properly should produce no odors whatever, as their waste should be properly reincorporated into the soil. The vast majority of meat consumed in the world does not come from sustainable, environmentally conscious producers, though, and this is often reflected in the price – the cheaper it is, the worse, in most cases.

Meat Production and Global Warming

The small minority of naysayers aside, global warming is a serious issue. There are the main culprits to blame – cars, air travel, energy production, etc. – but one of the largest emitters is animal meat production. The UN estimated in 2006 that 18% of all greenhouse gases emitted in that year came directly from the production of animal meat. This includes cattle, hogs, dairy, poultry, lamb, and all the rest.

How, exactly, does meat production create greenhouse gases? Well, at the most basic level, it's inefficient. Animals need food to grow. They consume mostly grains to bulk up in size – every calorie of meat needs about 16 calories of input. This grain is grown by farmers from thousands of miles away typically, which needs to be shipped to the meat production plant. The animals live in energy intensive Shelters that are often heated in cooler climates. The meat then needs to be processed, and is then shipped off to other places where it's consumed. Cattle also emit ethane gas, which is many times more potent than the more common Carbon dioxide that fuel for cars creates. All of these adds up, creating an extremely dirty business model that pollutes our air, and causes irreversible harm to our atmosphere, and then, the world as a whole.

Meat Production and Water

Animal waste is a potent, natural fertilizer. When applied to fields intended for crops, the dose nitrogen and ammonia can give plants that extra boost they need to grow into a beautiful, strong, nutritionally weak food source. This, unfortunately, is not the case when animals production is centralized into large production houses. There can be thousands of cattle, hogs, and chickens in a single building. There is no way to spread the waste that animals produce thinly enough to reincorporate it into the soil in a healthy way. What typically results, is that animal producers create huge lagoons of water mixed with animal waste, sitting out in open fields. This, in itself, can leach out into community ground water, polluting it to toxic levels – ammonia and nitrates become toxic when there is too much present in a single source. This can ever run into rivers, as well, polluting people's water source downstream. A more disastrous scenario is when these lagoons overflow due to flooding, and massive amounts of animal waste pollute a clean water source in one large surge. This can create serious health problems for large communities of people.

These are just two examples of how livestock can affect the environment. There are plenty more. This should provide any reader with a little fodder to work over in their minds, and consider how animal production can negatively affect the environment we all share.

There are many reasons to become vegetarian – for the environment is just one.

Am I A Rabid Environmentalist?

I was talking with Greg Marshall on WKMT radio about green living and retail issues the other morning. At one point I mentioned I was a “rabid environmentalist”. When he came back from his commercial break he replied that he did not see me that way.

He went on to say that in his mind a rabid environmentalist was a long haired person who would chain themselves to a tree to save the tree. He jokingly claimed they were a bit stoned, or out of touch with reality in their thinking. I took it a bit further to mean that a rabid environmentalist is an activist and goes to great lengths to make a point.

Based on that conversation I've realized I'm not rabid. I clearly do not have long hair! I do not chain myself to things, or live in tree canopies, to make my point.

I am passionate (and strive to share that passion with you). I'm dedicated. I walk my talk. I study, research and learn as I go. I'm not afraid to say I'm wrong about an issue I took a stance on. I'm not willing to chain myself to a tree, spotted owl, or whale. I'm not even willing to go to jail for my convictions (so far nothing has been that important, anyway).

Walking my talk means I do as many things as I can to be green and environmentally sensitive. I tackle as many areas of action as I can, not just one or two, like:

  • water conservation
  • energy conservation
  • waste reduction
  • reducing my use of chemicals
  • eating locally sourced foods
  • pre-cycling
  • use of low VOC products

I've also thought about saving endangered species. I'm of two minds on the topic (does that come from being a Libra and having balanced ideas?): Plants and animals go extinct all the time, and always have, so why sweat over the natural cycle; human activity is speeding the demise of species, not part of the natural cycle and something to be concerned about.

It seems to me that plants and animals that disappear through natural cycles represent survival of the fittest, or demise of the unfit. And it further seems to me that if humans exacerbate that cycle, killing off species which time was not typically here, that we are detracting from life on the planet in ways that hurts us beyond our comprehension.

So, while I'm not going to defend endangered species in radical ways, I will continue to speak for their protection and excuse caution. It's not so much the planet I'm concerned about, it's the people on the planet I worry for.

I'm going to now call myself a Sensible Environmentalist.

Air Freshener

I just got back from the dentist's office. And yes, it got a clean bill of health, and a silver star on my chart (reduced flossing demoted me from a gold star). Whew! But, I have a problem with that office; it stinks.

Well, you might think it smells good, but I do not. Because other patients complain about the “dentist office smell” they use various plug-in scents, scented candles, and spray air freshener / air fragrance products to mask the odors people comment on. The irony is that I'm complaining about the faux fresh-air smell. My sinuses buzz when directed to photographed products, and sometimes the chemicals used to make those products cause me to get cold-like symptoms that can last 24 hours. That's not a price I'm willing to pay my dentist, no matter how good he is.

Now, to be fair, he and his office compatriots do try to please me, as much as they can. When I went to him the first time I could not even stay in the waiting room as I waited for my dental hygienist because the scent was so pervasive. They removed all the air fresheners during my stay, but that did not help enough. So I quit going.

I live in a small community, and his wife asked me why they had not seen me in the office in a while. So I told her. She totally understood my perspective and promised to work on removing the fake air scents. The dentist, seeing me at lunch recently, walked up to me and said to be sure to ask the receptionist to mark in the calendar to remove everything the day before my appointment. I told him that there would not be enough time since the carpet, upholstery, and curtains were arranged with the chemicals. Darn it! I was right. But, they do get a point for trying.

As he left me in the chair, after his exam was completed, to finish my cleaning, he asked me what my boulder dentist had used (I told him that office smelled fresh like unscented clean air). I called and found they used nothing; they do not have a “dentist office” smell to mask. Huh.

Since I want to keep using this dentist I decided to research what they could use to mask or remove the scents that other patients are bothered by. You get to benefit from this research, as I will (I hope) in 9-12 months when I go back.

Quickly, here's a list of the problems associated with various chemicals found in most commercial air fresheners:

  • allergic reactions
  • asthma attacks
  • eye irritation
  • lung irritation
  • skin irritation

Problem chemicals include:

  • camphor (potential nervous system harm)
  • d-limonen (a pesticide)
  • various neurotoxins and endocrine-disabling compounds
  • formaldehyde (a carcinogen)
  • paradicthlorobenzine (a carcinogen
  • 1,4 dichlorobenzene (a lung irritant)

VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are what's at work here, and many are known to cause cancer.

The first place I checked for good air fresheners was GoodGuide, but was disappointed in the results. Miesness Rainforest Air Freshener was the only name I recognized that I knew had quality, non-petro-chemical ingredients. [note: I quit to use the phrase “natural ingredients” since green washing has so ruined the meaning of it.] I checked the next two on the list and was dismayed by the list of chemicals.

Then I just Googled for “natural air freshener” to see what I could find. I loved what I found here:

  • baking soda
  • beeswax or soy candles, scented with essential oils
  • cedar blocks, though cedar can be an allergen
  • essential oils, dispersed in a variety of ways (lightbulb rings, cotton balls, and porous containers made for the job)
  • HEPA air filters
  • lavender bundles
  • open doors and windows
  • orange with whole cloves inserted
  • potpourri made of herbs and flowers
  • spices, gently boiling on the stove, or in a simmer pot
  • white vinegar

And some commercial “natural air fresheners” include, from the same Google search:

  • CitraSolve's Air Scense
  • Earth Friendly Products / ECOS Uni-Fresh Air Freshener
  • Method Breathe Easy
  • Natural Sundae's Natural Air Freshener – Rosemary & Sage
  • Aura Cacia Orange Pomander Air Freshener
  • Ecco Bella All Natural Air Freshener Ecco Mist, Citrus

And the list goes on.

It puzzles me why people think they need to buy commercial products to freshen the air (or their clothes) when they can save money by just taking a natural approach. Open windows go a long way in freshening indoor air. And it's free! For odor removal baking soda is always good. And if you want a fresh smell, go with flowers. But clearly the marketer are winning and people spend reasonable amounts of money making their homes and offices “smell good” with commercial air fresheners.

The hardest part is convincing people that the more chemicals they put in their bodies the more health problems they, or their loved ones, are going to have. All I can do is say try to be as natural as possible with creating a fresh smell in your home or office, and save money.

8 Mold Facts You May Not Have Known

Even though you may not see or smell it, mold infestation is a serious problem in many homes, apartments and office buildings. Here are some facts about mold and fungi that you may not have known.

1. Mold is not dirt. Mold and fungi are actually living organisms that are related to the family of mushrooms. Mold can not be cleaned away. It can return reproduced except the source and cause of the mold is eliminated. In some cases, this requires the help of a professional.

2. Mold comes in a variety of colors . Toxic mold is often associated with black mold, but hazardous mold can come in a variety of colors, including gray or brown. Exposure to fungi and mold has been associated with asthma, allergies and repertory problems. You may not know that it is in your home, but that does not mean that they are not breathing in spores.

3. Easy to test (maybe). To determine if a surface patch is mold or dirt, spray some water on it and rub it with your finger. If the patch feels slimy, you are very likely dealing with mold.

4. Bleach will not do the job. Mold can not be eliminated simply by pouring bleach on it or scrubbing an affected area with bleach. Most chemicals are ineffective against spores, and the mold will have a tendency to return.

5. Mold needs to eat and drink. Mold requires moisture and a food source to survive. Moisture can come from leaks, damp basement walls and even water vapor that may condense from improperly vented bathrooms. To remove mold properly, you must find the source of the moisture. Once you have washed out the area, you must scrape off the mold from the affected area and apply the appropriate chemicals.

6. Improper removal can make the problem worse. Removing old drywall, wallpaper or opening up previously enclosed areas can unleash a new, larger problem. Disturbances may reveal existing, hidden mold. It can also serve to disperse mold spores into the air, and possibly be sucked into your HVAC ventilation system. This can lead to health problems and spread the contamination.

7. Start early . If you suspect an infestation, then you should start remediation procedures. Tests are simple to administrator and can determine where and at what level the infestation may exist.

8. A big problem requires the pros. If you find a moldy area larger than nine square feet, you should consider having a professional deal with the problem.

How To Make Orgone

Orgonite is a combination of catalyzed mix of polyester or epoxy resin with various types of metal shavings, poured directly into small-scale molds. It is said to draw in etheric energy much like Reich's accumulators. Some individuals also include small quartz crystals into the mixture for their ability to make the energy more coherent or to enhance the working of the actual actual orgonite. Thus orgonite fundamentally is a substance which functions like a self-driven, continuously-operating, highly effective energy transmutation device, drawing negative life energy levels and transforming this into beneficial energy. The resin through organon reduces through the curing process, permanently compressing the quartz crystal inside which in turn creates a well-known piezoelectric impact inside the crystal, which means it's end-points become polarized electrically, it evidently will cause it to operate better as a positive energy levels creator. Although crystals improve the function of orgonite, they are not essential for any orgonite to be effective.

Anyone can construct these devices with ease by gathering the required materials. Orgonite is basically a mixture (approx. 50/50 ratio) of metal and resin (polyester, urethane as well as epoxy) to which one or even more quartz crystals are added. It is usually beloved straight into all kinds of forms: pyramids, cones, disks, cylinders plus pendants, to name but a few. Some individuals utilize it to help combat air pollution and also cell-tower radiation. Other people utilize it to clear energies in their homes, to improve the growth of plants in their garden. It appears to work especially effectively in different kinds of healing work. Energy levels sensitive people have provided various comments on how orgonite affected them. They have shown that it really works. You can also connect to it and use it for certain purposes.

When you look around on the Internet you will find people using orgonite for all types of applications. Neverheless, in my opinion, a lot of it can be just much too crazy, with a lot of beliefs yet very little substantiated claims. I wanted to discover for myself if orgonite actually has something too, which led me to start making my own personal Orgone Devices. More and more people worldwide are learning about the beneficial effects of Orgone Energy and have started to make their own orgonites. Try it for yourself, it's easy. The required materials can be found quite anyway either in your local community stores or by searching online.

Orgone Energy

This term orgonite derives from “orgone”, the term provided by Wilhelm Reich for essential energy discovered everywhere through nature. Also known as “Chi”, “Prana”, “Ether”, “Élan Vital”, or “fifth element”, this vital energy exists in an organic way within a variety of types. It may be neutral (OR), positive (POR) or damaging (DOR = deadly orgone energy). When positive, it enables living microorganisms to be found in a healthy condition. Reich did a great deal of research and research on the attributes as well as behaviors surrounding this minority energy.

Reich constructed a powerful orgone accumulator from alternate levels of metal as well as organic material. He built a fabulous cloudbuster with which he could cause it to rain, and he witnessed how orgone radiation was capable of counteract nuclear radiation. He died during his jail, after experiencing his labor and much of his written work incinerated by the government bodies, who feared what knowledge of this energy could possibly reveal.

Reich's 'Cloud Buster', constructed from a collection of aluminum tubes / tubes of different lengths which were sat on a spinning base. From the actual tubes was an earthing cable which was submerged in running water. When pointed at the heavens, he could create clouds as well as cause it to rain as well as dissolve clouds and establishing a very clear blue sky.

It is essential to realize what DOR is. DOR (Deadly Orgone Energy) is POR (Postive Orgone Energy) but “armored” as Reich called it. “Armoring” means that the living energy does not circulate freely any further, but has been compromised into a rigid form. Whenever a knight wears his armor, he can not move that freely any further. The same is applicable with energy when “armored”. Take a look at mother nature. When water flows freely, it's full of vitality and living in it flourishes. When water turns stagnant, it develops into a stinking pool, and life in it is dissipated. DOR is negative, that is, it suffocates life types.

It generates disease, plus extremely it will contribute to death. DOR energy is basically human made, simply by technology, such as equipment and microwave transmitters, chemical substance pollution, actual physical break down of the landscape, but also simply by human emotions. A location where a violent death happened, for instance, will retain this DOR imprint on that place for some time. A residence where the inmates have a lot of negative emotionally charged reactions will also be filled with DOR. The human body itself can likewise be armored, that is, by long term psychologically and mental complications, man's creative expression may be blocked or dammed up, leading to contraction of his / her energy, quickly or slowly resulting in disease.

As people we are open to energy systems. This means that we can not shield ourselves implicitly from our environment. We are continuously subjected to the actual energies in our environment. They affect us whenever we're conscious of this or even not. Therefore it is important to transform any DOR that surrounds us all into positive POR.

Microwave Cooking – The Risks and Hazards

Microwave cooking technology was originally developed in Nazi Germany in the early 1940s. The motivation for the development related to logistics of the war effort. If food for troops being deployed to distant locations could be easily cooked and quickly with microwave energy, it would eliminate the need to transport fuels needed for conventional ovens.

At the conclusion of the war, both the Russians and the Americans obtained microwave cooking equipment along with data from tests that had been conducted by the Germans. In Russia, extensive testing related to microwave cooking began about 1957. As the tests ensued, the mounting volumes of data related to the negative impact on human health were so disturbing that in 1974 Russia built the use of microwaves for cooking in that country, and issued an international warning about its dangers. The April 1992 Journal of Pediatrics reported that researchers at the Stanford University Medical Center discovered significant changes in human breast milk that was microwaved just enough to warm it. The changes included the destruction of 98% of its immunogloban-A antibodies and 96% of its liposome activity, which inhibits bacterial infections.

Dr. Lita Lee, of Hawaii, reported in the December 9, 1989 issue of Lancet : “Microwaving baby formulas converted certain trans-amino acids into their synthetic cis-isomers. Further, one of the amino acids, L-proline, was converted to its d-isomer, which is known to be neurotoxic (poisonous to the nervous system) and nephrotoxic (poisonous to the kidneys). babies are not nursed, but now they are given fake milk (baby formula) made even more toxic via microwaving. ”

In 1991 there was a lawsuit in Oklahoma relating a woman who had undergone a routine hip surgery. After the surgery, a blood transfusion was administered to her. Blood for transfusions is routinely warmed, but not in microwave ovens. In this particular case however, the nurse, unaware of the risks, did warm the blood in a microwave oven. The patient died 90 minutes after the transfusion. It looks obvious from this case that microwave ovens are doing something to substances other than warming them.

The concerns related to microwave cooking fall into 4 categories:

  1. The effects of microwave radiation on people who are in the vicinity of the microwave oven while it is being used
  2. The potential negative impact on the nutritional value of food that has been cooked in a microwave oven
  3. The potential of carcinogens and other health-endangering agents being created within the food as a result of being bombarded by microwave energy
  4. The effects on human health as a result of eating food that has been cooked in a microwave oven

Microwave Radiation

The dangers of microwave radiation are well known. The hazards first became identical in conjuction with the development and use of radar, which utilizes bursts of microwave radiation at very high power levels. Until the effects were better understood, and appropriate precautions taken for workers in the vicinity of radar systems, microwave radiation ruled in numerous cases of severe illness and even death.

Although radiation standards have been established for the manufacture of microwave ovens, nobody really knows for certain what levels of radiation can be considered 'safe'. One thing that is known about the harmful effects of microwave radiation is that they are cumulative. So radiation levels that may be reliably 'safe' based on infrequent or occasional use, may not be at all safe for someone who uses a microwave oven on a daily basis. There are special dangers for pregnant women. A US government agency has acknowledged that the human fetus is “probably the most sensitive segment of the population potentially exposed to radiation”. Children represent another sensitive segment of the population.

The intensity of microwave radiation varies exponentially according to the distance from the source. The standard established in the US in 1971 for maximum radiation 'leakage' from a microwave oven is 1 milliwatt per square centimeter at a distance of 2 inches from the oven surface for new microwave ovens (prior to sale), and 5 milliwatts per square centimeter thereafter. At the 5 milliwatt level, the radiation would be down to 0.05 milliwatts at a distance of 20 inches, and only 0.005 millawatts at a distance of 5 feet. The message here is simple: NEVER stand close to a microwave oven when it is in operation. This is especially important for children.

Unfortunately, microwave ovens tend to be located in kitchens based on convenience, rather than safety. Oftentimes this means that they are located at eye level, resulting in the greatest radiation exposure to the head. This is particularly disconcerting in view of the fact that one of the common effects of excessive microwave radiation reported by the Russians is a degeneration of brain circuitry and increased levels of disturbance in alpha-, delta-, and theta-wave signal patterns.

Obviously, the safest alternative is to not even have a microwave oven in your house!

Are You Really Going To Drink Alkaline Water For Your Health?

Drinking alkaline water for your health is one of the latest fads. Some sources call it a scam. No one knows if the theories about increasing the alkalinity of your system are true. We do know that there are many threats in public water supplies.

Public supplies have been tested for a variety of chemicals by independent researchers. Public treatment facilities are required to test for a competent of hazardous contaminants, but many continue to be unregulated. Perchlorate is an example.

Perchlorate is a naturally occurring element, a volatile organic compound (VOC) used to make rocket fuel. Researchers have found high levels in freshwater sources, in vegetables and in milk. Public treatment facilities are not required to test for it, because it is unregulated.

The main risks associated with perchlorate consumption have to do with the thyroid gland. The chemical interferees with the gland's ability to absorb iodine, which can lead to hypothyroidism.

The thyroid gland regulates metabolic activity in adults. In children, the gland must be functioning optimally to ensure normal development. Perchlorate interferees with thyroid gland function at levels commonly found in contaminated milk and water. So, if you are drinking alkaline water for your health, you had best be sure it is free of perchlorate. How could you do that?

You could have samples sent to a local lab, but it is actually easier and less expensive to purchase and install a home purifier. Any home purifier that is certified to remove VOCs will remove perchlorate. Of course, most of the purifiers you see in department stores do not contain the appropriate steps to remove perchlorate. Primarily they remove chlorine, which not only tastes bad, but is also bad for you.

If you have heard that you should drink alkaline water for your health, here is an interesting fact. Chlorine increases the pH level. It is found in salts, which are alkalis. Perchlorate is an oxide formed from chlorine. Oxides are free radicals. Exposure to them causes cellular aging and plays a role in cancer.

Proponents of alkaline-water systems say that the liquid will have antioxidant activity. That does not make any sense at all. Antioxidants are nutrients, most of which are found in plants.

There are literally thousands of hazardous animal contaminants in publicly treated supplies. Getting rid of those contaminants is much more important than the pH level. Instead of drinking alkaline water for your health, you should be drinking something pure. In order to do that, you need a good water purifier .

Do You Really Want To Make Alkaline Drinking Water?

You can make alkaline drinking water at home. The question is this. Should you drink something unnatural?

The purported benefits of these electrically charged or mineralized beverages are unproven. Some experts believe that the regular consumption of beverages with a pH level of 9 or 10 could actually be bad for your health. It's unnatural. Naturally occurring freshwater has a pH level somewhere close to neutral or around 7. Purification industry experts say that a pH level of 7.5 is optimal or a slight alkalinity, but not extreme.

Proponents of higher pH levels say that the beverages can reduce the acidity of your bloodstream and tissues. Chemists and healthcare practitioners say that is impossible. Eating foods that are acidic is said to leave an acidic ash in your digestive system. That theory is not supported by medical evidence.

Stomach acid is necessary for the body to digest proteins. If you were able to stop your body from producing stomach acid, you would quickly become weak and malnourished. Luckily, it is not possible to stop the process completely, although the proton pump inhibitors prescribed for people with acid reflux do decrease the production of stomach acid. Those who say it is good to make alkaline drinking water and consume it on a regular basis maintain that the beverage will reduce your risk of cancer, because cancer cells can not survive in a higher pH level. Neither can healthy cells.

Neither cancerous nor healthy cells can survive in an acidic environment. Think about it. It's acid. There is no logic to the argument. Once the contents of your stomach are ready to be emptied into the digestive tract, your body produces bicarbonate to neutralize the stomach acid. It is a natural process designed to protect the lining of your intestines.

In order to make alkaline drinking water, it is necessary to add minerals. The ionization devices being sold for thousands of dollars do not add minerals, nor do they provide any purification benefits. Purifying your home water is necessary, because of all the chemicals and other contaminants present in our freshwater supplies. Thousand of chemicals proved to cause cancer could be floating in your glass. This is one of the reasons that so many people have switched to bottled. What they do not know is that bottled is not any better.

A good point-of-use or home multi-stage filtration device is the solution to the problem. Learning how to make alkaline drinking water is primarily a waste of time. Learning how to buy a good water purifier is a good way to spend your time.

What Exactly Is a Colon Cleanse?

Having your colon cleansed may seem like a great idea for many people, especially with many people worried about toxins in the environment and nuclear plant meltdowns. The major question is does it work? Also is it worth it to do? First lets go over exactly what a colon cleanse really is. Basically, a colon cleanse is forcing the colon to release everything in it. People have been doing it for as long as humans have been alive. The theory is that undigested food builds up in the digestive system it causes toxins which circulate through the blood stream harming someone's health.

There are really two methods to clean the colon out. The first is to buy a whole bunch of products and do it yourself. The second is to see a professional to do it for them. If you're wondering if it will work, sure it will clean your colon out. Of course not everyone is in an agreement if it is a good idea. A colon cleanse in certain situations can be helpful like if someone needs to remove something in their colon. One thing to think about, is what if doing it removes good things like vital nutrients? Also is really a good idea to bring rapid change to your body? This is why it is not a clear cut answer that doing these cleanses on a regular basis is helpful. Then you add the financial costs of some of these ingredients and professionals who charge them and it's questionable.

My thoughts are that colon cleanses are a bunch of BS Of course, I could be wrong. My idea is to drink plenty of water. Consume a diet with good fiber with a variety of food. Limit processed foods since it makes sense that our bodies would have a hard time digesting it. Exercise on a regular basis then let the colon do its job rather than jerking it around. Plus the liver destroys toxins, and natural bacteria in your system helps destroy any harmful toxins that someone may want to kill through a colon cleanse. If you do decide to do the whole cleansing of the colon a few good ideas would be not to do it to regularly, drinks plenty of water so you do not dehydrate yourself. Get a list of the all the stuff your putting into your body. If you see a professional for the colon cleanse of course make sure the equipment is clean and lastly check with your doctor before you start.
